The Institute of Public Administration Australia (ACT Division) is a non-profit, non partisan professional body for all who have an interest in the promotion of good governance and excellence in public administration. The Institute, with its state and territory divisions, is long-established and is highly respected both within and beyon Australia. Our members are drawn from all areas of the public & private sectors, academia, and the student community.
Our objective is to provide leadership which enhances the work, value and influence of the Public Sector in Canberra and the rest of Australia. This is achieved through:
- The provision of an extensive range of professional services and programs which keep members up to date with comtemporary public sector developments.
- Awards, grants and sponsorship for achievement of "excellence" in the practice and study of public sector management, and
- Opportunities for members to contribute ideas to public sector improvement when government and public sector organisations seek the Institute's comments and opinion.
What are the Institute's Core Values?

- To foster the active participation of individuals and Institutions in discussion and debate on matters related to public sector management.
- To act as a primary resource in the dissemination of information on all issues concerning changes in government policy, innovation and reform.
