GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION: A UK PERSPECTIVE

IPAA ACT, in partnership with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Canberra, presented an event to provide a UK perspective on government and public sector communication.

Mr Alex Aiken, Executive Director (ED) for Government Communications from the United Kingdom was the keynote speaker at the event. Mr Aiken was appointed the ED role in December 2012 and is responsible for government communication strategy, managing the combined Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet Office communications team and serves as Head of Profession for the Government Communications Service.

Mr Aiken works in the Cabinet Office located in Downing Street, and is the most senior communications professional in the Civil Service. His role covers government communications strategy, management of the Cabinet Office and No.10 operation and leadership of the profession.
