harmonised

After working on harmonising occupational health and safety arrangements since July 2008, a number of State/Territory jurisdictions and the Commonwealth Government implemented new Work Health Safety legislation from 1 January 2012. The new legislation affects organisations and individuals.
This event will provide an overview of the key significant changes through the harmonised work health and safety laws, particularly duties and obligations, consultation requirements, and consequences of non-compliance. It will also provide an insight into the rollout and implementation of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 from the perspective of WorkSafe ACT.

The Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management aim to encourage and recognise better practice and innovation in all levels of Government in Australia. The Awards are designed to honour the achievements of public sector workgroups, units and teams rather than individuals.

The major winners of the 2011 Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence will showcase their initiatives at an event on 27 March.
The event is a must for those interested in innovation and excellence in the public sector, and for those that intend to nominate their initiative for the 2012 Awards. The event will complement the Prime Minister's Awards Information Session on 22 May 2012.

This Seminar will explore the role and impact of Commonwealth Government's oversight and review agencies. Do they exist to catch out departments and agencies or is
their main purpose and impact the gradual improvement of public administration?
Or is there a bit of both in what they deliver?

This topic is explored not only from the perspectives of two prominent oversight agencies but also from the perspective of a Commonwealth Department responsible for the delivery of many complex Government programs and hence commonly subject to oversight reviews.

The views of a community advocacy organisation are also being canvassed.
