The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) ACT Division administers the Australian Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management. These pre-eminent Public Sector Awards aim to encourage and recognise better practice and innovation in all levels of Government in Australia. These Awards are designed to honour the achievements of public sector work groups, units and teams rather than individuals.
 

Awards Banner2014 small Awards Eligibility and Nomination Process

Any work unit, group or team within the Commonwealth, State or Territory and local government Public Sectors may nominate an initiative for the 2015 Australian Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management. Only public sector organisations are eligible to nominate. Initiatives that involve other organisations, private sector and/or community-based organisations are also eligible but only if the initiative is sponsored by the nominating public sector organisation. It is imperative that nominations that fall into this category are endorsed by the Secretary/CEO of the nominating public sector organisation. Cross agency or whole of government initiatives are also eligible and are strongly encouraged...

Launch of IPAA's regulatory professional capability standards guidance
3 February 2015

IPAA's regulatory professional capability standards guidance for the public sector was officially launched by the Head of Domestic Policy, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Ms Rebecca Cross, at the IPAA ACT 2015 Programme Launch in Canberra yesterday evening.
This is the third of IPAA's professional capability standards and complements professional standards for procurement and policy issued in February 2014. The standards provide guidance on the technical skills and knowledge expected of public sector officers working as professionals in these roles. The guidance complements the public sector employment and leadership capability frameworks issued by public sector commissions across Australia.....

The Institute of Public Administration Australia ACT Division is a non-profit, non partisan professional body for all who have an interest in the promotion of good governance and excellence in public administration.

The Institute, with its state and territory divisions, is long-established and is highly respected both within and beyond Australia. Our members are drawn from all areas of the public & private sectors, academia, and the student community.

IPAA Membership

Membership of the ACT Division of IPAA is open to those who have a continuing interest or involvement in public administration and management. The Institute is a professional non-political organisation with divisions in all states and territories and coordinated by a National Council.

IPAA ACT promotes excellence and good governance in public administration. Our members come from 70 Commonwealth and ACT Government agencies and private sector organisations that support the public sector in the ACT.
