On 21 November 2016, IPAA ACT had Dennis Richardson AO, Secretary of the Department of Defence provide a keynote address at the penultimate event in IPAA’s 2016 Secretary Series.
Mr Richardson’s career spans over 47 years in the public service. He has served as Secretary of the Department of Defence since 2012 and was formerly Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He has held numerous other senior appointments including Ambassador of Australia to the United States; Director-General of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation; Deputy Secretary of the then Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs; Head of the Review of the Intelligence Community post-Cold War and Principal Adviser to the Prime Minister.
