Leaving Lockdown: Advice for parents and guardians adjusting to life after lockdown

On 27 October 2021, IPAA ACT and Steople hosted a virtual event with Australasia’s preeminent child psychologist, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg.

Dr Carr-Gregg discussed the impacts of the months-long closing of schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic and provided tips and advice on how to navigate the transition out of lockdown. He discussed how to help your children with the challenges of getting back to school, how to look after yourself and your children as work and school demands conflict, and how to adjust to significant changes to your routine.

Cheryl-anne Moy, Deputy Secretary at the Department of Home Affairs and IPAA ACT Deputy President presented the opening remarks and James Fulford-Talbot, Associate Director at Steople ACT hosted the event and Q&A session.

This event was part of a program of work on mental health that IPAA ACT delivered during Mental Health Month.
