Natural Resource Management

A panel of three Secretaries will provide three portfolio perspectives on Natural Resource Management.

Join IPAA for a lunchtime event to discuss Natural Resource Management in the public sector. Australia is a big country with extensive and diverse natural resources which are of economic, environmental and social importance to the public and economy. The following three departmental Secretaries will join the event to discuss what’s happening in the management of Australia’s natural resources, including land, water and coast.

  • Dr Gordon de Brouwer PSM, Secretary of the Department of the Environment and Energy, and IPAA President will talk about how Australia’s resource management frameworks can be used to get the most from the opportunities of a growing population and economy and deal with the challenges of a changing climate.
  • Glenys Beauchamp PSM, Secretary of the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, will talk about the need for new technologies, innovative practices and robust data to ensure effective decision making and sustainable natural resource management practices into the future.
  • Daryl Quinlivan, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, will talk about what on-ground decision–makers, like farmers, are doing to better manage land and water systems.
