IPAA is pleased to present a master class with Dr Don S Lenihan. This event is designed for an intimate group and numbers are strictly limited to 40 tickets, sold on a first-in best-dressed basis. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this highly sought-after event!
Everyone likes to win. So, why are so many critical public debates still framed in win/lose terms – a simple binary choice where someone wins only if someone loses? In fact, issues are rarely that black and white and many high-stakes debates – perhaps most – could be reframed as win/wins. This presentation explains the three basic steps that Informed Participation uses for turning a win/lose issue into a win/win, then shows how this opens the door to a whole new way of doing public policy.
Dr Don Lenihan is President and CEO of Middle Ground Policy Research Inc. He is an internationally recognized expert on public engagement, governance, policy development, and organizational change. He has over 25 years’ experience as a project leader, researcher, writer, speaker, senior government advisor, trainer, and facilitator. He is the author of numerous articles, studies, and books, and writes a weekly column for National Newswatch, Canada’s preeminent political news aggregator. He earned his PhD in political theory from the University of Ottawa.
