IPAA regrets to inform you that the International Series with Peter Hughes CNZM has been cancelled. The terrible events in Christchurch on Friday 15 March have resulted in Peter cancelling his planned trip to Australia. We note that it is likely the event will be rescheduled sometime during 2019. If you wish to be notified, please email IPAA with your name and contact details.
You are invited to register to attend an IPAA International Series event with guest speaker Peter Hughes CNZM, the New Zealand State Services Commissioner and Head of State Services. Peter has a strong connection with Australia, as Chair of the Australian and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) and as a member of the Reference Panel for the Independent Review of the Australian Public Service.
Peter was appointed the State Service Commissioner in July 2016. His career in public service began more than 35 years ago as a clerk with the then Department of Social Welfare. For ten years, Peter was Chief Executive at the Ministry of Social Development, the successor organisation to the agency where he began his career. Prior to that, he was Secretary for Internal Affairs, Chief Executive of the Health Funding Authority and Deputy Director-General of Health. Before taking on his current role he served as Secretary for Education for three years.
