IPAA is pleased to host a Valedictory Address by Duncan Lewis AO DSC CSC, Director-General of Security of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation. Duncan has announced that he will retire at the end of his term in September.
Duncan was appointed Director-General of Security on 15 September 2014. Previous roles have included Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, the European Union and NATO, Secretary of the Department of Defence and Australia's inaugural National Security Adviser.
Duncan served in the military for 33 years after graduating from the Royal Military College Duntroon in 1975. His last appointment was as Major General, Special Operations Commander Australia.
The event will be hosted by Dr Steven Kennedy PSM, current Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development. IPAA notes that Steven will have assumed the role of Secretary of the Treasury and IPAA ACT President at the time of this event.
