2021 International Women's Day Event

Join us for a digital workshop to mark International Women’s Day, celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women; a day that also marks a call to action to accelerate gender equality.

The UN theme for IWD 2021 is Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.

The workshop will offer members the opportunity to reflect on and draw insights from their experiences of leadership under pressure during the pandemic.  Participants will then share their thoughts on how the following themes can improve gender equality in the APS, to ultimately benefit all in society:

  • Flexible work – leading and managing in a flexible way that supports all staff
  • Addressing structural and cultural barriers to promote gender equal and inclusive workplaces
  • Gender analysis in policy design to understand the differential impact of policy by gender.

To respect difficulties associated with event delivery during COVID-19, the format for the 2021 IPAA IWD will be digitally delivered. In partnership with the 50/50 by 2030 Foundation, the workshop will involve a series of digital breakout groups, key topics to discuss and a facilitated report back to attendees.

Discussion will be targeted at all levels from across the public sector interested in the shared benefits of achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.

We advocate for a gender diverse audience, as gender parity in the context of participants leads to meaningful consideration of all views. Innovation is driven by diversity, so we welcome and encourage registrations from all genders.
