On Tuesday, 17 April 2018, participants attended the Future Leaders Series On the Couch event titled 'Advice to the Younger Me' with the Commonwealth Ombudsman Michael Manthorpe PSM and Elizabeth Kelly PSM, Deputy Secretary, Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. Both Michael and Elizabeth gave very honest and frank advice reflected on the guidance that they would provided to their younger self.
Prior to the On the Couch discussion which included questions from the audience, the event included a light breakfast with networking opportunities.

He is the 10th Commonwealth Ombudsman since the Office’s inception in 1977. By virtue of an arrangement between the Commonwealth and ACT Governments, he is also the ACT Ombudsman. |

Elizabeth Kelly commenced as Deputy Secretary at the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science in October 2017, where she is responsible for innovation, Prior to this, Elizabeth was Deputy Secretary, Governance at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet where she was responsible for machinery of government, Cabinet, legal policy and governance issues across the public service and coordination of support to the Prime Minister. |
